The WARS of the Republic

The Wars of the Republic is a science fiction series set in the mid-2100s. The catalyst of this new world revolves around the formation of AOL Industries: a neurogenetic research organization in Greenland studying anti-aging genome sequencing. The two founders of the organization, Robert Dain and Vrin Draukunshed, open the greatest Pandora's box known to man with a drug that could cease aging around someone's 30s and prevent death from natural causes.

The distribution of the AOL drug brought mankind prosperity, and from that prosperity, humanity formed the Republic: a collective of earth’s nations sworn to peace after the discovery of an alien hyperspace belt outside Mars.

However, peace was soon disrupted when Vrin Draukunshed, co-founder of AOL Industries, killed Robert Dain and seized a monopoly on the drug’s production, using it as a political power grab to form the New World Order. Those who supported Vrin’s reign were given AOL treatment, and soon, Vrin’s dictatorship flourished. Through poor leadership, however, flourishment turned to widespread poverty and starvation.

What followed would be known as the “Forty Years of Hunger.” From 2043 to 2095, Earth’s population tripled and resided under Vrin’s tyranny. However, with the “Revolution of 2095,” Boris Gerumandian led a stunning rebellion to bring Vrin down. Instead of killing Vrin, Boris sentenced him to eternity in a cell. It was Boris’ most criticized act.

With Vrin overthrown, Boris Gerumandian revived the Republic and served as Commander of its military. He launched a space expedition to the hyperspace belt outside Mars which led to a new solar system. In that system, Boris found a planet that mirrored Earth’s atmosphere called Leshkodine.
There was just one problem: it was already inhabited.
 
Waions, intelligent, scaly creatures resided on the planet and refused to surrender their location. That same year, Boris launched his armada against the Waions, conquered Leshkodine, and made the surviving Waions slaves. He called the planet “New Earth” and made it the homeworld of the Intergalactic Republic. After the war, Boris served as councilman and organized many interplanetary reforms to continue space colonization and militarization on the Republic's frontiers in the event of another extraterrestrial attack.

The Wars of the Republic series follows the conflict that ensues within the Republic in the 2100s as a new mutation arises in AOL standard humans granting them supernatural abilities. These genetically mutated humans are called "psychics." The main storyline unravels when Deputy Dakari Minathi catches the same psychic twice, raising questions about the integrity of the detention centers of the Central Dain Arbitrator Department.
