State arbitrators are tasked with escorting psychics to rehabilitation centers on New Earth. But when Deputy Dakari Minathi catches a psychic that should have been imprisoned, questions about the security of these detention centers abound–questions the CDAD would rather leave unanswered. The Awakening is a story about a motley crew of individuals who realize that the truth behind this conspiracy might be worth dying for. Dakari’s investigation will ultimately take him to the Gerumandian Academy, where he will bargain with Quan, a psychic in hiding, and Mirabelle Marshall, a flight student who has compiled a harrowing list of missing students with even more harrowing questions. Where are these students going? Why can no one remember them? And who might be next?
